Clandestine Sentiments [One-Piece Fanfic]

Quiet, polite, proud, and strikingly beautiful- the traits expected of the princesses of Aldlyn. They were expected to listen, learn, and obey. To become woman worthy of their heritage and one day be married off to the benefit of the kingdom. They may not have all agreed with their treatment, but they understood and accepted it.

That was, until the day one of them broke. In the wake of her bloody act of rebellion, she and her concubine mother fled, leaving everything behind.

Years later everything has changed. In order to protect them, she's become someone that no one from the palace would recognize- a boy. She's content with the simple life she's been driven to despite the fact that it's left her unable to get close to anyone. That is, until one evening when her house is broken into and the family symbol carved into the door. Left with nowhere to hide, she takes the only option she sees to keep her secrets and past behind her and stows away on the first ship out of the port.

Secrets, however, have a way of coming to light whether we want them to, or not. No one can run forever.
