Adrien Agreste is twenty-three years old. He is single. He lives with his mother and his younger sister, Lily. His father died when someone murdered him. Soon after this, his mother, along with him and his sister left the only place they knew as home and moved to Paris, France. He is handsome for his age, kind, tall, and also deaf. Adrien fell in love with a girl once long ago who broke his heart. He swore off love since then. So, what is about Marinette that makes him want to rethink this decision?
Lily Agreste is eight years old and remembers little about her father since he traveled for business a lot. She remembers the day he came home late after a trip. She heard her parents argue, then her father left for a week. She recalls he returned but never came back inside the house. Lily is Adrien's little sister, and she looks up to her big brother. She is homeschooled but also takes ballet lessons.
Mrs. Agreste, Adrien's mother, and widow of the late Mr. Agreste is a lady who is determined to raise Lily on her own despite everyone's protest. She is partially deaf since she lost her hearing in her right ear after an accident that almost took Lily's life.
