The world of Varggrund has been at peace for moons, and Rowyn, yearling of the pack Sabirir of Borris, wouldn't have it any other way. Alpha of the Great Pack, Lord Vale, Rowyn's father, had led the pack for years, and even though Rowyn would have to be alpha herself one day, she is content in her peaceful life.
Suddenly, her father is murdered by her uncle, who had been missing for years, Tore, and Rowyn is forced to become alpha at a young age, and Tore attempts to seize power, he attacks Borris and puts everyone in danger as he makes dangerous alliances and decrees as he expands his influence as Lord Tore. Rowyn is forced to leave Sabirir camp and lead her pack to safety, and flee Borris as Tore hunts her down. As Rowyn has to learn to become a great young leader, she has to rely on her friends, accept help, and make alliances, even though there are some wolves in them that can't be trusted...
