Amemura Kei is a regular third year high school student who just so happens to live with his grandmother and younger sisters. His parents worked far from home but called often to make up for it. He was studying to become a therapist, he was relatively unknown amongst his peers, his family was happy, and he was about to graduate. He was content with life.

So why did everything have to change?

Akechi Kokoro was an irregular third year high school student. She's an orphan soon to be kicked out of the system who transitioned into in-person classes after the online servers malfunctioned. She had no family to keep her company, she was studying hard to prove she could become a detective, she was the talk of the school amongst her peers, she felt like something was missing from her life, and she was about to graduate. There's something wrong with her life.

So why was she so relieved when things got infinitely worse?
