Danielle (Dani) Young has been working on the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch for half of her life. She owes everything to the Duttons. If it wasn't for John finding her bloody and unconscious body in a ditch when she was 14, Dani wouldn't be alive. Dani's mother passed away when she was young, and her father and step-mother were constantly strung out on God knows what.
Despite Danielle's traumatic past, she felt like she belonged. The Duttons always treated her like family, but they also used her to their advantage when fights got tough. Dani knew that John and Evelyn always hoped for Kayce and Dani to pair up since they grew up side-by-side, despite her lifelong crush for the eldest brother.
