Sheltered for years by her father's iron grip, she is desperate to prove herself and escape the chains of her family's suffocating legacy. But the rebel army offers no sanctuary. They are enemies, bound by hatred and rivalry, yet every encounter only seems to fuel the fire between them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Sometimes," he murmured, his voice dark and taunting, "it's better to stay curious." A pause. Then, softer-hungrier. "But if you really want to know... I wanted you here. On my team. Close to me." His fingers barely grazed my side, a ghost of a touch. "To break you." Another pause, a smirk I could hear in his voice. "To touch you." His breath fanned against my skin, heat curling down my spine.
