Author's Note
I have done my best to keep this piece on par to the actual events and effects following the Great War in London, England. With that said, there may be instances of inaccuracies to allow this story to take on a life of its own. Furthermore, there are allusions to historical figures under the guise of various pseudonyms. These characters are meant to relive their legacy, but also maintain their anonymity out of respect. There may also be references to my favourite tales of murders and legends to bring life to my own childhood wonders. And there may be mentions of forgotten crimes committed in the past or even crimes of myths committed by those who are lost in folklore. There was no attempt in piracy of any sort when writing this, only that everything here was written in good faith to amplify the voices of the idols that I have looked up to.
Also note that I, the author, am Canadian, and the main character is British. So, brace yourselves as this novel will be written in British English. Meaning that I recognise that 'recognise' will not be 'recognized' by my fellow North Americans. who may be fearful of this blasphemous spelling of words such as 'recognise'. While this may upset some of you, my many English and ESL teachers instil more fear into my heart more than any American ever could. So here's a dose of Z's before you go to bed to get it out of your system.
'Zzzzzzz'
With all this said, please enjoy your encounter with the Devil herself.
