ABERDEEN, 2003. "Through thick and thin," were lackluster words to describe the friendship between thirteen-year-old Andrew "Andy" Breher and fourteen-year-old Drew Dreyfuss--two boys living on opposite sides of a social spectrum yet bound together by something far more tragic than anyone could believe; abduction.

What originally began as an overnight trek down to the muddy banks of the Wishkah River quickly morphed into a waking nightmare. Confusion swept over them like tidal waves, but two things remained clear: Boys were not meant to be taken against their will, and worse, boys were not meant to be ruined.

But they had been, and for the next ten years, reality refused to sink in.
