Ravi's love for gaming wasn't accidental. It started when he was ten, a birthday gift from his father-a second-hand console with a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
His father, a workaholic businessman, promised to play with him every weekend. But those weekends never came. The console became Ravi's escape, a world where he could control outcomes, unlike the unpredictable life around him.
When his father passed away, the console became more than a game, it
became a companion. As he grew older, Ravi upgraded his gear, moving from consoles to PC gaming. PUBG became his battlefield, and with every headshot and victory, he felt a sense of control he lacked in real life.
But control came with a cost.
"I play because it makes me feel like I can win," Ravi often thought, brushing aside the growing distance between him and his family.

"Why are you having my painting in your room?" I asked shifting my gaze a little from the beautiful painting of me, towards him who was standing behind me with his hands in his pockets before looking back at the sketch. I turned a little and looked up at him craning my neck, to look at him who was already looking at me with so much of love and adoration as if I was the only one in this world. His eyes bored into mine making my breath hitch. "Seven years back," He replied dropping his head on my shoulder and turning sideways snuggling into my neck. His one hand reached my nape pulling me closer to him. "That was the first time I saw you," He said huskily kissing my neck and my cheeks turned hot while knots formed in my stomach. "Thanks Ally." I grabbed all the flowers then ran back to the car. I drove to the grave. I threw all my stuff into my bag. I grabbed the flowers and I pulled my bag over my shoulder and got out. I looked around and saw people young and old coming here to see their loved ones. I saw my families graves. Almost my whole family will be buried here. My grandpa always said it was sacred. I put the Cosmos on my dad's grave. The Daises on my grandmothers and the Roses on my grandpas. I talked and talked to them till I pull my pack of cigarettes out of my bag along with a lighter.
