Mature
Echo, a fierce and deadly soldier, has spent years hiding her brokenness behind a mask of discipline and cold efficiency. Her painful past-scarred by an abusive father and a neglectful mother-has left deep mental wounds, making it impossible for her to trust anyone. Serving in a high-stakes military task force, she keeps her emotions buried, channeling all her pain into missions where life or death is the only certainty.

Enter Ghost, a stoic and seemingly unfeeling brute who is as mysterious as he is dangerous. He's a man of few words, with a presence that commands attention and a reputation for getting the job done-no matter the cost. To Echo, he's just another soldier to keep at arm's length. She doesn't need anyone. But Ghost is relentless, and his icy exterior hides a deep, painful past that makes him just as guarded as she is.

Their first encounters are marked by tension and animosity, both struggling to reconcile their respective demons while being forced to work together in the same elite task force. Ghost is everything Echo tries to avoid-brutal, emotionally distant, and full of unspoken secrets-but as the dangerous missions pile up, their fragile alliance begins to shift into something more complicated.

With every mission, the walls around both of them begin to crack. Ghost, a man haunted by a trauma of his own, begins to see the fragile humanity beneath Echo's hardened exterior. And as Echo is drawn deeper into his world, she starts to realize that the brutal soldier she once despised might be the one person who truly understands her pain.

But in a world of warfare and deadly stakes, the line between enemies and lovers is thin. As their undeniable chemistry grows stronger, Echo and Ghost must navigate the perilous tension between them, facing both the enemies on the battlefield and the buried scars in their hearts. In the end, their greatest battle may not be against the forces they face, but against the emotional walls they've spent years building.

He asked and I looked up at his eyes. I didn't have to ponder over the matter long. "I don't know." I said softly. Daimen frowned and studied me for a while, "Just wondering, because you seem to love pissing me off. And most people don't. So I guess you need some figuring out to do." ********* Daimen and River were both seniors at the same high school, they took some of the same classes, walked the same halls, live in fair distance from each other, but they couldn't have been more different. When high school was over River and Daimen became ghosts to each other but then years later fate decides to bring them back together. River Sparrow hates confrontation. With a threat growing in the shadows, Lieutenant Drew "Daisy" Farrell is sought out for TF141, an elite squad of soldiers trained to deal with the world's most serious threats. The transition onto the team goes smoothly, except for the animosity between her and her fellow task force Lieutenant. Despite the anger between them, Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley --the grumpy-ass, arrogant, rude, frustrating, control freak of a man-- manages to distract her with his coffee-colored eyes and sinful touches, leaving her cursing him in more ways than one. But as the target terrorist organization avoids their grasp, he shows her exactly what she can have if she simply listens. ⁂ For anyone else who is feral over Simon Riley and enemies to lovers, this is for you ;) This story contains a lot of smutty chapters, however, there is still plenty of plot to go along with it. Chapters will be noted if they have smut... in case you're curious... This story does NOT follow the video games, ie. Soap's not dead <3 CW: cannon level violence, swearing, explicit sex, threats and inuendoes referring to SA *Warnings will be posted at the top of chapters. Excerpt: He turned to her then, stepping close enough that he brushed against her knees. "Is it possible for you to keep your mouth shut?" he asked lowly. "What? Am I getting on your nerves?" His eyes narrowed at her. "You're gettin' close to an ass-chewing." "Can't handle a little banter, sir?" "You're insubordinate." "And you're sensitive." He let out a frustrated growl. It only served to encourage her. "You wanna take that thing off? It's hard to tell how you're feeling without seeing your face." A very obvious lie, especially when his eyes showed her everything she needed to know. He was pissed.

What will happen when he comes to know her real identity? Will he be able to stop himself in time from falling or will she have to face his wrath for hiding the truth. __________ "Do you believe in love?" He whispered in her ears making her jump. He was close, no, too close. She could feel his breath and hear her heart beat pounding very fastly. She took a few steps back to get her personal space secured. "You scared me." "Sorry, that was unintentional and I did not know that you are that weak." He smirked at her. "I am not weak.. That..." she saw him taking a step towards her. She gulped and then continued. ".. is a..." Another step. ".. normal.." One more step closer. ".. reaction." Another step. By now, he was again within her personal space. "I think we should go and see if Natey is done with her books." She whispered and laughed nervously and turned back only to be hold and pulled back to a hard chest. He had purposely swirled her along with him, changing their position. His front was dangerously touching her back. "It's a weak who always run away showing back." He whispered in her ears, his breaths touching her neck. His hands were placed just below her breast and touching most of her abs part. ___________________________________________________________________________ This is my first attempt at writing.
