It comes to me so quickly, I just lost Cody, my best friend and he is never coming back. Going to his funeral only made it more real.
Barry comes up to me and pulls me into a tight yet comforting hug. Wiping a few tears that I didn't noticed escaped since I was too busy thinking about Cody.
"El, what can I do? I can't stand seeing you like this." he says softly.
"He was all I had and now he is gone." I choked out and to get myself together. I hated crying in front of people. It made me feel weak.
"I'm alone," I finally whisper softly.
Barry looks down at me and leans down to my ear and quietly whispers
"I will never leave you. El. I'm here for you and your my best friend! I'm not going to abandon you now! Me, Bruce, and Hal will be with you every step of the way, just please don't shut us out! Please. El, look at me," he says while taking my face so I am looking up at him
"I promise, you are never alone."

I have felt that way all of my life; but then again I felt as if I went missing nobody would even notice or care I was gone. I am 23 and just graduated from college. I watched her as she slept. In fact I have been watching her since she was born. I have waited half a century to find that one person. I think I have finally settled on her. She was my choice.
