Ryul and Lucille are friends. They grew up together. Ryul is the child of a nobleman in the Elven kingdom and Lucille is The Army General's Daughter. She has been trained to protect Ryul since she was old enough to hold a weapon but that never stopped the two from finding time to play together or hang out when they could. She is betrothed to the Captains son and Ryul I'd betrothed to the daughter of another noble family. This could be the end of their friendship and they may never get the chance to confess to each other.
When war with an enemy clan breaks out and Lucille's father is killed she is brought into the post on of General as quickly as possible. She is torn from Ryul and put on the battle field where she is likely to die. Ryul has a choice. Disgrace his family and abandon his wedding to go and help Lucille, his childhood friend and true love, or bring his family honor and more wealth by marrying a woman he barely knows.
