Stanley and Reid were ordinary transfer students from America, attending a high school in Japan. However, their lives took a dramatic turn when they encountered supernatural entities during a late-night excursion in a forest rumored to be haunted. Stanley became possessed by a wendigo, a cryptid known for its monstrous strength, hunger, and regenerative abilities. Reid, on the other hand, was possessed by mothman, granting him enhanced vision, flight, and precognitive abilities.

Initially, the two were terrified by their newfound powers. The cryptids trapped within their souls, much like Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen, constantly tried to overpower their hosts to gain control. Despite their fear, Stanley and Reid learned to suppress the cryptids and gradually harnessed their abilities, albeit with some reluctance.
