"As he went along he saw a man who had been blind from birth. His disciples asked him, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus replied, 'Neither he nor his parents sinned. He was born blind so that the works of God might be revealed in him'"
John 9:1-3 ESV
People in the Ancient World believed that if you had an illness, or were disabled, it meant that God was punishing you, but we know now that this is not the case. We know now that disability is just a consequence of our fallen world, and that God is not punishing us. I have had a disability (Legg Calve Perthes) for 6 years now, and I know that God is not punishing me. Disabilities are another way to show God's glory, and to show how anyone can share the beautiful Words of God.
