When monsters and demons cause chaos, humans will always find a way to adapt using more and more violent weapons or are we the one bringing chaos?

Yi Chen Lee is a 34 year old single father, scientist and empathetic extrovert who had been abandoned by his boyfriend and has not recovered from the loneliness life has brought him ever since. When his ex, Seiji Fujikwa, the betrayer of the human civilization who ran away to rule the monsters suddenly came back, Yi Chen's conflicted on Seiji's motives and whether they still love each other but he cannot focus entirely on his love life. The defense force (DPS, Defense, Protection Service) is creating the D4 ray (which Yi Chen is also responsible for creating), a laser that will end the monster race and chaos once and for all. Is this the solution to the ongoing conflict? Can the gap between humans and those of chaos be bridged? And most of all, is there an ethical solution?

Yi Chen will have to answer those questions whether he has the energy to or not and with the help of Seiji, his son Hiro, his coworkers Kieran, Marai, Itsuki, Bob (the foreigner) and the DPS, he'll find the answer.
