The Double Cult Cha-Cha: An Al Squires of the Protectorate Story (Book 1) by ddubtyn

If you met ever met Al Squires, you'd never know that this eccentric, mercurial, irreverent, snarky, arrogant, occasionally accident prone, half-crazed (self proclaimed) genius son of a witch and mad scientist was a special secret agent. One that any agency would hire, at least. But, then again, The Protectorate, the Multiversal multi-faceted organization that keeps the Balance between Order and Chaos throughout the Multiverse in check, isn't the kind of organization that you're used to. Here is the first in an exciting, philosophical, thought-provoking, mind-bending, and genre-blending series. In this story: After a successful bust in an interdimensional black market warehouse, Al accidentally releases a twentysomething young woman in a stasis pod. After being forced by his boss to take responsibility for her and protect her, he later learned that she appears to be just a Blando-Rando, a regular human being who isn't In the Know. Which, he hates, because 'Blando-Rondo babysitter' isn't one of his many (self-described) skills. But, after seeing her very dormant powers awaken as they're both being chased by two different cults- one wants to sacrifice her, and the other wants to preserve her forever- Al learns that the biggest adventures can begin unexpectedly. If you knew about Multiverse Theory, then you know that anything that CAN happen, WILL happen; if not in this universe, then in another. Well, in an Al Squires of the Protectorate story, anything CAN and WILL happen.

Space-Time of Death: an Al Squires of the Protectorate Novel by ddubtyn

Call Al Squires many things: a special agent, a crime-fighter, a Magick-user, a mad scientist, a genius, a trickster, a philosopher, among others. Of course, you can also call him not-so-nice things: like 'pompous,' 'annoying,' and 'a lunatic'; but let's not dwell on the negative. However, in this second addition in the Al Squires of the Protectorate series, Al's adding a new name to the list: TIME TRAVELER! After Al and his new partner/trainee, Norah Navarro, have a 'chance' encounter with a mysterious witch on a foggy night, they're then called to their HQ for an emergency meeting along with the usual suspects. They then learned that their Division has been asked to help agents from Ouroboros, an ally organization in charge with time travel and anything Time-related, who are tasked to catch a time-traveling serial killer who has murdered four of their agents. It's strikes a definite cord when they find out that one of the victims is Sylvie Parish, the Division's Forensics expert/Ouroboros Liaison/ Al's frenemy. Of course, it doesn't strike as big a cord than it does with Sylvie, who was right there at the meeting, alive and well! So, in order to save Sylvie (and the other three) from being murdered, Al and Norah- along with their friends and fellow agents and a few Ouroboros agents- must travel back in time to prevent each murder from happening. However, there is one setback that may prove a hindrance to the mission: The emitter that Al wears that keeps his Lodestone side-affects in check has been sabotaged. That means he has to deal with all sorts of strangely horror-themed weirdness; including (but not limited to) Disco Zombies, Black Magick Hippies, and worse! And he and Norah can't tell anyone about it because the witch placed a spell on them that prevents them from telling anyone this. So, other than that, Sylvie's going to be fine...right?
