Suddenly a whole group of gangster-looking men hurried over to see what the fuss was about, her nerves increasing within every second.
She tried shaking free again, but her other arm had been captured, too, keeping her from escaping, "you're not going anywhere, girl," she didn't care who exactly said that at that point, "no one leaves a place like this." They all gave a low chuckle.
As for Bella, she was frozen in her place, frightened, feeling paralyzed and overwhelmed. Where did all those men come from? And more importantly, what would they want from her?
The guys crowded her and spoke about her as if she was some famous display everyone wanted to touch. She hated it. She hated it so much she wanted to cry.
Then suddenly a familiar voice cried over the loud thundering voices of the crowd, "what is the meaning of this!?"
Everyone turned their attention from her to the tall speaker. She wanted to sit and crawl into a ball, but the two men kept her upright by her arms.
Instead, she looked up at the speaker, her eyes widening at the sight. The sight of Xavier. One of the men stepped forwards and gave a small salute, "young sir, we found a girl jump our walls-"
"And your first plan was to harass her?" he interrupted, his tone stern and annoyed. The man hesitated, "w-well..."
"Move," he ordered, interrupting the man's words.
He obeyed and moved aside with all the others, making an open line towards Bella, still held captive in the two men's grips.
"Let her go," he ordered again, in the same soft yet stern tone. But they both also hesitated, "but young sir, your father-"
"I don't care what that man says or thinks!" he suddenly burst, frightening not just Bella but everyone standing in front of him, and everyone went silent. The two men hastily let go of her. She fell back into the fall, her heart hammering in fear.
He met eyes with her, and his approach changed entirely. His gaze softened, "are you alright?"
