If you haven't played BG3 (or finished it) you may find that this offers spoilers - so be warned.
Note; In place of (Y/N), this collection will use (Tav) for the players name and (Durge) if they are Dark Urge characters.

Character Background:
Astarion was a magistrate in the city of Baldurs Gate until he was attacked by the Gur, a group of monster hunters, and left for dead. Found bleeding and close to death by vampire lord Cazador Szarr who gave him a second chance to live - albeit under the control of Cazador as a vampire spawn.
Astarion spent almost 2 centuries prowling the darkened streets of Baldurs Gate, seeking out helpless residents for his master to feast on while he was granted only the scraps and rodents that scurried too close to the vampire manor. Whilst on another mission to seek out a feast for the lord, Astarion was abducted by an Illithid Nautiloid and found himself the host of a newly birthed Illithid parasite. With the prospect of ceremorphosis into a newborn Mindflayer on the horizon, he set out to find allies to help him seek out answers and either a cure or a way of controlling the parasite that granted him newfound powers - whichever was more appealing to his hungry grasp.
