Spirits govern everything, the sun, moon, stars, and earth all work to keep the towns alive. Spirits never show themselves, bound by rules that no one dares to break.

Seraphina, grieving her father's death and neglected by her mother, clings to one last memory. Her father's star necklace, a gift that now haunts her. The king threatens her, claiming the necklace holds power he wants back. Alone, Seraphina writes letters to the stars, though she knows they will never reply.

But someone is listening. A rare star spirit reads every word, drawn to her pain. He watches, waiting, until one day, he dares to answer. But in doing so, he sets in motion a chain of events that no one can stop.
