A Moment in Time: A Soldiers Tale

This is a short moment in time of what I believe it would be like to be a soldier back in World War I. I created this originally for a competition "Simpson Prize" and I was experimenting with writing this story instead of writing an essay like I usually would have done. This is the first story that I have completely finished. My English teacher keeps saying that this a good piece of writing so I decided I will post it here and see what you think. (Ps. Just remember it is only a really short story because it is only a moment in time for this soldier.) enjoy!

At first I want to say some things, I have no idea what I will be writing because well, I will just go with the flow and write what comes into my head. I do not have any previous writing experience if you don't count a few quick story's in school on my native language class. Humanity is right in the middle of an epic battle between heaven and hell. Standing on the sidelines are the laziest man on earth and the President of the United States who just might be the savior, the antichrist or both. Truthfully just a bunch of random Solangelo oneshots. There might be some depressing stuff in here so be warned, I'll put a trigger warning in front of it. A group of friends deal with life in the trenches along the Western front. Young German soldiers sent to fight a war they were told would be over by Christmas, soon realize that they aren't going anywhere. I did as best research as I could at the time, I'm sure it is not 100% accurate. This was written several months ago based on a story I wrote in middle school. I decided to I wanted to post this somewhere just in case someone else found it, maybe I can get some feedback. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront.
