Two brothers wander the Kingdom of Sand together, where they meet a group of young dragons. The dragonets are on the run from their caretaker, a crazed brute who has the reputation of ending dragonets.
The brothers decide to help, at the sight of the young dragons, bruised, beaten, and battered.
They run and hide in the abandoned Kingdom of Night, here they meet Castiel, an old synethia, whom Akane remembers. The brothers reacquaint themselves, despite reluctance, and team up.
