It's been six years since I've spoken to Jaxon Kavanagh. Between girlfriends, boyfriends, parents and opposite schedules, we just haven't been able to find each other. Until we end up with class together and we're finally reunited. But there's things he doesn't know about me. I've had a dark few years, and I didn't plan on telling him about them. But the more I talk to him, the more he proves how much he cares. It makes me want to trust him. I'm just not sure if I can.
After trying for two years to get Mara's attention, I was finally able to get a class with her. Luckily, when I walked through the doors, the only open seat was directly next to her. The moment she opened her mouth, I could tell she changed. Something had happened along the way to change her happy demeanor I remembered from our childhood. And I was determined to bring her spark back.

"Ava, you have to be quiet! They'll hear you-" Tears started to spill from my eyes, blending in with the rain that dripped down my face. I shouldn't have come here. The last time I followed someone I made accidentally noise and got them killed. I had to get away from Jaxon. I turned on my heel, ready to run to, but Jaxon grabbed my wrist.
