Nathaniel is a former underdog turned centre of sexual objectification. But he still hasn't gotten used to the change in how he's treated now that he's had his dance with puberty.

This is that look of complete awe and adoration that men have on their faces in movies when they see the girl they're in love with walk down the stairs, like they've never seen someone else look more beautiful, like they see her and they feel like they just discovered a new rare gem stone.

She's glowing. Her skin, her hair, her dress. I start walking towards her and it's like she's a magnet, pulling me to herself in a way I can't control.

Once I'm standing in front of her she places her palms on my shoulders and moves them down to my elbows, her eyes trained on mine as her hands reach back up to my hair where she soothingly combs through it with her fingers.
