Lizzy Knappe is looking forward to her first Christmas as a single mother after her divorce. This year it's going to be she, her six-year-old daughter, and their cat, Mr. Turmeowric. The halls are decked, biscuits are baked and iced, matching outfits have been purchased.

Lizzy is an accountant, she has a detailed plan for everything - and it definitely doesn't include giving in to her long-term crush on her colleague, a delicious IT specialist, Darren Midwinter.

The problem is that the man has a plan of his own, and he never gives up. He will take 'no' for an answer, of course; he's no brute - but will she be able to resist his thought-out strategy, his considerate yet unwavering attentions, and his large warm hands?
