Amelia has always avoided the spotlight, preferring the comfort of quiet nights and a good book. But when her best friend drags her to a buzzing new club, she finds herself swept into a night of unexpected tension with James-a charming, yet elusive man who quickly catches her eye on the dance floor. Their connection is undeniable, their chemistry electric, but the night ends with more confusion than clarity, and Amelia can't help but wonder if it was all just a fleeting moment.

When a couples' dance competition is announced at the club, James and Amelia are forced into close proximity once again, this time as rivals. James, a heartbreaker who avoids emotional connection, is paired with a new date, and Amelia is determined not to let their past encounter affect her. But as the competition heats up, so does the chemistry between the two-now undeniable, and impossible to ignore.

Caught between their mutual dislike, the growing tension, and their unexpected attraction, Amelia and James must decide if they can put aside their differences long enough to let their hearts-and their feet-find the rhythm that might just lead to love.

When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. A new group of friends, a chance at a normal teenage life, even a potential love interest - things that Amelia had never even thought about happening after everything she'd been through. But happiness is only temporary in her life, and she knew that. It wasn't surprising to her when her past began to catch up with her present, it was simply a good thing that it had taken as long as it had. They do say you should always keep an eye over your shoulder, especially when you know you're being hunted, but for Amelia, even an eye in every direction wouldn't be enough. [2024 WATTY WINNER][18+] Two best friends. Six weeks. One final shot at love. Since college, Maisie and August have been best friends-frustratingly, perfectly platonic best friends. For nine long years, Maisie has secretly harbored the hope that their relationship could be something more. In that time, Maisie Rhodes has skyrocketed to stardom as a pop sensation, earning the title of Pop Princess from her devoted Rhodie fans. When she hints on The Tonight Show that her love songs are inspired by someone close to her, speculation runs wild. To throw everyone off the scent-and protect her true feelings for August-Maisie's manager hatches a plan: fake a relationship with her best friend. Miraculously, August agrees. Now Maisie faces six weeks of pretending to date the one person she's always loved, all while tiptoeing around the unspoken truth that's lingered between them for years. What could possibly go wrong?
