Dicentra Carver Ken and Betty Carver's eldest daughter has come home after college she was the best friend and secret crush of Gilbert Grape his friend Bobby McBurney got lucky and dated her for a bit in High School while Gilbert sadly watched them from the sidelines pretending to be happy for them when he and so many other guys were jealous of Bobby for snagging the most gorgeous girl in school her mom who had started a secret affair with Gilbert when he started working at Lamson's Grocery towards the end of High School lied to her daughter and told her Gilbert didn't like her anymore because he was jealous of the fact she was going to College and he was stuck at home taking care of his obese mom and mentally disabled brother Dicentra gets a job a Salon that does house calls and her first house call is to the Grape Residence where she meets a old friend who seems to have forgotten her then again he does have one too many responsibilities so we'll use that as a excuse but he falls instantly in love with her from the moment he sees her will he be able to get her to love him back this time!? or will her catching him with her mom ruin his chances!? and what happens when a free spirited Gypsy like girl named Becky comes into town and Gilbert starts to feel something for her as well what will happen to his and Dicentra's relationship then!?
