Ginger Matthew's used to be a bubbly, fun, talkative and happy girl, until her best friend turned on her. Now she spends her days writing and publishing stories, keeping to herself unless it's with her roommate, Elena. The pain of her best friend turning on her sticks for seven years, and it never gets any better. She's the opposite of the girl she used to be, and when she sees the boy she used to be best friends with, it all seems to get worse.

Nicolas Davis was the popular boy in highschool, and also one of the biggest bullies. He peaked, and had all the friends he could ever ask for, while leaving his real friend behind. He had fun making fun of her making her life hell, he doesn't know why, but it brought him some kind of peace. His life was never great, maybe that's why he did it. One day, he sees her again, and it throws everything around in a whirlwind.

He knows if her success, knows of what he's done to her. But does he know the internal struggle she deals with? The lingering pain and doubts he's caused among others? Will they be able to fix things, reconnect, and finally be happy?
