Let me put it like this.
I was perfectly okay with letting my friends take the stage. I didn't have a problem with being in stage crew, working the lights, helping other students rehearse their lines and songs. I didn't want to be center-stage, all eyes on me, all attention on me. I was quite fond of being behind the curtain.
That was until the snobby, egotistical, no doubt handsome, male lead pushed me into the spotlight.
