Alex Carter has life all figured out: pizza, video games, and avoiding anything remotely "weird." But when his parents leave for the summer, leaving him and his overly-curious golden retriever, Max, to their own devices, the most "normal" thing about Alex's life disappears. It starts with a questionable crystal (which, honestly, Alex should have just tossed in the trash) and suddenly they're sucked into a world of glowing dragons, mischievous demon squirrels, and bizarre portals.
From accidental dragon summoning to Max morphing into a ridiculously handsome teenage boy with dog ears, Alex's idea of a quiet summer is officially out the window. There's a cat who turns into a griffin, a strange girl with golden eyes and a scar that could definitely use a backstory, and enough inexplicable chaos to make Alex question if he's losing his mind-or maybe it's just the fever dream of a teenage boy who really, really misses his couch.
Every time Alex thinks he's grasping the slightest bit of normalcy, something even weirder happens-demon squirrels, exploding crystals, and oh yeah, wacky dimension-hopping. Can Alex survive this wild adventure, or will he embrace the madness and just roll with the punches (and the portals)?
Get ready for non-stop laughs, heart-stopping chaos, and one seriously confused dog who really didn't sign up for this in this hilarious, unpredictable adventure where reality isn't just stretched-it's shredded into tiny pieces and tossed into another dimension.
