On the first day of October 1989, forty-three women around the world simultaneously gave birth. None of the women showed any prior signs of pregnancy. Before the umbrella academy, hargreeves simply tried to put powers into one's body. To twist the DNA in such a way that they would have abilities. Therefore he adopted a child, her name was Elizabeth. Soon, she had to ability to turn her body into a gas. However, after that succeeded he got mad with power. He wanted to see if it was possible to make someone immortal. it was much too dangerous to try to on himself, therefore, he chose Elizabeth. Instead of making her immortal, it made her "stuck" in a way. She simply did not age, she was stuck in the body of her 13-year-old self. She would eventually die as her mind aged, but her appearance would stay the same.
