Violet Dagon is a Royal, and no Ruler or Master will get between her and winning the Crown of Elsara, and her line ruling over all of Elsara for five hundred years.

Even if the Rulers and Masters are two families Vie knows, that she's grown up with. That are her friends.

It doesn't matter. She'll have to kill them all anyway.

As the day for the Contend of Elsara draws nearer, so do Vie's opponents, especially the Masters. Their weapon of choice is strategy, and the best one for the Conted is to keep your friends close... but enemies closer.

Vie is launched into a world of blood and battlesuits and class and dignity. But how can you hold your dignity when you're supposed to kill your friends?

As Vie gets closer and closer to the Heart of Elsara- the glimmering city, the streets where blood will flow like water -she will begin to find out just how little of a person can be left when the worst happens... and how things might not be all that they seem.
