It's the year 2062, and the world is being rebuilt after almost everywhere was left in ruins because of World War 3 and World War 4. The US is no longer called the United States, and is now called the United Provinces. The northwestern part of Canada and Alaska was destroyed entirely. The remaining 49 states merged into six different provinces. Northwest province, north province, northeast province, west province, east province, south province, and southeast province.
To prevent anymore wars, every country agreed to be ran by the same government. The government then enacted the Drifter and Keeper laws. Ever since then, people have been living as either drifters or keepers.
Keepers don't like drifters, and drifters don't like keepers. Keepers run drifters out of town, harass and attack them. The feud has lasted ever since the law was put in place, and will most likely continue until something happens and the law is removed.
The feud is certainly an obstacle, especially for the love shared between two teenagers. Joey "Pilfer" Santello is a troublemaker who lives in a town called Orkley's Roost in the south province in what used to be Oklahoma. He's not favored by anyone in town, even his parents. He got his nickname because of how much of a thief he is.
But one day, something changes for the better. A drifter by the name of Ruby Bowe starts camping in the woods near Orkley's Roost. When the two crossed paths one night, it was love at first sight. It was like everything was black and white, and as soon as they met eyes they saw color.
With many obstacles to hurdle and questions to answer, the two try to dismantle the bigotry toward drifters so they can be together. Learn about these young lovers' journey in "A Love That's Not Allowed."
