Orphan Dylan Claire's life is boring. She has no real "friends" And she lives in a city unknown to the greater part of humanity. So when her parents threaten her with boarding/military school, she hops onto the first bus to Camp Wicker. Where she makes the strangest friends, pulls dangerous pranks, and falls in live with the most annoying boy, Jakob Tacorda.

But when her parents die, its the army or the orphanage for D.C. It doesn't matter what she chooses, each choice leads to leaving Jakob Tacorda forever.
