The worst love is the one that stays, lingering in the moments where silence fills itself with the softest nostalgia. One that makes that single silent second a memory worth an eternity, hardly being able to comprehend the reality that it is a waken dream. Nothing hurts more than realizing that life is becoming death and, in return, nostalgia. It's hard to call the weight of grief with such a word of reminiscence, but what other way would we want to remember those we miss?
-----------------------------------------------
When Zurie Dela Rey returns to her childhood home after the death of her estranged father, she encounters Elio Toro, the man who had taken care of her father's land in her absence and in his death. As past, present and future nostalgias build and burn bridges, they must learn to heal beside the rivers and vines of the land they both call home.
BOOK #1 of 'Forever Collection':
But why did he even listen to me when I told him not to talk to me? Why couldn't he have thought about the whole friendship he was throwing away? And for what? Just because he wanted to respect my decision? Or did he just not care?
Maybe it was just him trying to get rid of me... That thought alone made me even angrier, and I wanted to hurt him now. Now that I understood our past and remembered what I needed to remember to put the pieces together, I was even more upset. My train of thought cut short when he spoke:
"Stay away from him." He warned.
"Why? It's not like you care." I muttered.
"What?!" He shouted and I flinched.
"I said, it's not like you care!"
He walked towards me, his footsteps boomed against the floor, scaring me so much I felt dizzy. I take quick steps back, but he reaches me before I get to the door.
"You drive me crazy Heather." He muttered, before he crashed his lips on mine.
