Twenty years after her ascension to the throne, the kingdom she rebuilt has entered an age of unprecedented prosperity. Magic is revered once more, and dragons rule the skies. Elves, druids, and ancient creatures once driven into hiding now walk openly among mortals. But magic was never meant to be caged, or released without consequence. Now Natalya rules, with the family she fought to protect beside her, including her son, Prince Kaelen, heir to everything she built. Raised on stories of his mother's victories, and trained in magic, politics, and combat, Kaelen has spent his life preparing for the crown. But neither of them is prepared for what comes next. An ancient darkness over five centuries old has returned. The Dark One, a being thought lost to legend, threatens to step into the world. From her very essence come her children, the Princes of Death, powerful beings whose arrival threatens to unravel the peace Natalya spent decades creating. As old powers awaken, and alliances begin to fracture, dragons claim the skies, and armies march across the realm, while enemies emerge from unexpected places. For Natalya, the war is a reminder that victory never comes without a price. But for Kaelen, and the family who will inherit her kingdom, it is a lesson in what that price truly means. Because restoring magic brought the wonder of an ancient world back with it. But it also brought the darkness too. For a Queen's war won a kingdom, but it is family that will determine whether it survives.
