Seventeen-year-old Saiji Kamura has always lived a lonely life, haunted by the spirits that only he can see. After the death of his parents and the passing of his grandfather, a former Spirit Medium, Saiji is left with no one to guide him through the mysterious world of the supernatural. He learns to ignore the eerie whispers and strange visions, trying to live a normal life, even though he's constantly aware of the presence of ghosts and spirits.
But when an ancient Yokai named Shugumaru curses Saiji, forcing him to become a vessel for its dark power, his world is turned upside down. The curse binds Saiji to Shugumaru's aura, giving him abilities he can't control and opening him up to dangerous forces. The balance between the human world and the supernatural realm begins to crack, and Saiji is caught in the middle.
Enter Renji Kurosawa, a battle-hardened Spirit Medium who has seen the horrors of the supernatural world firsthand. After saving Saiji from a deadly encounter with Shugumaru, Renji begins to train him to control his newfound abilities. But Saiji's curse is a heavy burden, and the line between man and Yokai starts to blur.
With Yokai growing stronger and darker forces gathering, Saiji must decide whether he will embrace the power inside him or let it destroy him. As he uncovers the truth about his connection to Shugumaru, he realizes that his journey will shape the fate of both worlds-the living and the dead.
