Out of work and desperate to feel useful, Beth signs up for a gig app to go up the rift and kill some monsters. At least, that's what it appears on the surface.
So what if everyone says it's dangerous and crazy to go fight? So what if Beth has next to zero actual combat skills?

It's a wonderful day in Jamanakai city. Kai's plans for the day are to deliver a sword, get the loaded payment, buy necessities and potatoes to bake, go home, and take a rest. The last two have scratched off however, and it's all courtesy to this guy he comes across too; he's really tall, busting with muscles, owns a pretty pair of big eyes with green irises, and wears a damn charming smile. Everything goes upside down after that. Suddenly, before the gods could spare a blink, Kai is aboard a pirate ship with people he least expected to be with. Kai makes terrible plans, but this trip has got to be the worst yet as he literally fights for his life against one or two fellow mythical creatures. He's also fighting for his troubling heart, as the same guy who ruined his life never fails to skyrocket his heart rate through the sky, and churn his stomach like a towel being twisted into a rope. The first day they met was already stressful, let alone the following ones. After the events of skybound, jay is having trouble dealing with what happened. He is depressed and has a breakdown. With his friend's help he may be able to get through it all. Or will a villain from the past come back to destroy jay and force him to relive his trauma. I know this is a really lousy summery but the story is pretty good so give it a read.
