The van was packed tight-bags everywhere, a cooler wedged in the middle, and eight people crammed into the smallest space possible. Laughter filled the air as everyone joked about Finn's questionable playlist, except for Clara and Ethan. Clara sat stiff, arms crossed, glaring out the window, while Ethan sprawled across the back row, exuding smugness. They didn't know each other well, but their mutual disdain was undeniable.
"Don't talk to me," Clara snapped when Ethan made a comment.
"Trust me, it's not my idea of fun either," Ethan muttered.
Mia, trying to keep peace, turned from the front seat. "Ground rules: no fighting, no complaining. We're here to have fun, okay?"
The rest of the group exchanged knowing glances, aware of the tension. For Mia and the others, this trip was a celebration, but for Clara and Ethan, it felt like a forced punishment. Neither of them knew it yet, but this road trip would take them both on an unexpected journey-one that would change everything.
