Before he took the jump though he saw a very colorful shooting star going threw the night sky and decided to make a wish before jumping. He never hears how his old mentor had told him that he could stay within the walls of UA, but he just walks away from the school thinking that since he was quirkless... that he doesn't belong there anymore.
