Once upon a time, five people agreed to be part of a secret experiment. The experiment was meant to give them superpowers. They were promised that their loved ones would not be affected by the experiment, no matter what the outcome was. This was good, as the experiment failed--or so they thought. For one, it was her first child. For another, his second-born. For a third, her third. For the fourth, her fourth, and for the fifth, his first. They were all born with strange powers--powers that nobody could explain, and that put everybody around them in danger. Taken from their parents, the children were raised apart from society. They served a particular purpose. Nothing would go wrong. Until something does... or a lot of somethings.

"You can't rely on other people's kindness in this world. It don't exist." Normal people are like oblivious little ants, just working their way around, carry food, part of a bigger picture. People are so bland and mundane, each of them trying to be like the others. I suppose I'm no different- I'm trying to fit in too. However, a crippling obsession to avenge my only friend's death is getting in the way of that. If I want to get on with my life, I need to learn to come to terms with my past in a way that's less likely to get me killed.

Usually you die. But. I didn't. I lived. And got powers. This world was always cruel to me. So now. It's time to repay the world for all it's "kindness". *** "How could you keep this secret from me!?" "We knew you would freak out." "WHY WOULD YOU TWO HIDE THIS FROM ME!? I'M YOUR DAUGHTER!" "WHO IS A DISGRACE TO THIS FAMILY! THAT'S WHY WE RAISED YOU THIS WAY AND NOT LIKE YOUR SISTER!" Pressure builds up in my palms and I ball my hands into fist. My eyes widen. "I HAVE A SISTER?! YOU KEPT THAT HUGE SECRET FROM ME FOR 18 YEARS!? FUCK YOU TWO!"

Throughout all of history there have been stories of people with powers and abilities. Stories of gods, heroes, monsters, demons and angels. What would you do if one day you woke up to find everyone had gained their own unique powerset? The only caveat... For whatever reason you never received any powers... Like, at all. Well, that is exactly what happened to me. At least it is what I thought happened to me. This is the story of all the things that I have done to receive my powers.
