The poem is set in Africa. It focuses on the pains and agony of little ones trying to survive on streets where they are insignificant. It also talks about the starvation and hopelessness that accompanies those innocent, unprivileged souls living in slumps. Their pasts are full of misery, their present pathetic and their futures unsure.

Because they didn't know just how to say what they felt. For every person that is consumed by their own thoughts, the derision from the outside world only making it worse.
