Ray Taylors, a 16-year-old boy who leaves his abusive household during World War II. He forges documents to enlist in the army, undergoes intense training, participates in battles like D-Day, and eventually helps liberate concentration camps, including Dachau. The story also features Lena Toth, a young Jewish girl who is taken to labor camps, where she endures harsh conditions and eventual liberation. Lena and Ray's paths cross when Ray helps liberate Dachau, and they share an emotional connection through a letter Ray kept from her.
What will happen on April 29th, 1945 though? What will become of them when they finally cross paths after years of finding each other in other ways?
