The supernatural is a myth. Vampires, werewolves, mermaids, and unicorns are nothing more than human fables. But dragons? Dragons are no myth. Once rulers of the skies and Earth alike, they lived alongside dinosaurs in perfect harmony. That harmony shattered when a mysterious meteor poisoned Earth's atmosphere, rendering it lethal to dragons. Forced to retreat to the clouds, they have thrived in secrecy ever since.

Humans may be oblivious to dragons' existence, but some carry their legacy. The Draken-humans with the ability to transform into dragons-are equally bound by Earth's deadly gas, forever exiled from the ground below.

Arcanis, the sharp-tongued, fiercely assertive princess of the Draken, is banished to Earth under the guise of a human, tasked with investigating the toxic phenomenon. She arrives resentful and full of disdain for humanity, but her time on Earth challenges her convictions in unexpected ways. As she unravels the mysteries of the gas, Arcanis discovers more than she bargained for-about the world, the truth behind her exile, and even herself.

What begins as a reluctant mission turns into an unexpected fascination, leaving Arcanis torn between two worlds she never wanted to belong to.
