A hundred-meter wingspan, a monstrous avian predator, swept across the sky. Crimson creatures leaped and scrambled between skyscrapers, hunting for prey. A thunder-wreathed behemoth, each footstep shaking the earth to its core. Humanity cowered in the ruins of the city, praying for the protection of the World Tree.

Outside the city, a colossal tree, its branches blotting out the sun, opened its eyes.
