Severus Snape went home for the summer after 6th year. But, only two days into break, his father breath hime too severely. Causing him to land in a muggle hospital. His injuries prohibited him from responding to letters sent by Lily, who panicked and owled the Headmaster. The Headmaster quickly found out what happened and removed Severus from his fathers care and placed him in the Black's care. Much to the dismay of the teenage boys.
