Sky has always lived in the clouds, his sister, Kumo, forbids him to go down the world below. But his greatest wish is to explore the human cities down on Earth.

Hiroki is an orphan with only faint memories of his mom and the stories she used to tell him about a magical place called Cloud Country.

One day when Sky disobeys Kumo during a storm, Sky is falls down to Earth where Hiroki finds him and has to hide him as a human until Sky's wing, that broke during the fall, heals.
