Shiratori Airi had never lived a special life. Her gift wasn't shocking or spectacular, she wasn't the smartest or at the top of her class and she wasn't known to be extraordinarily beautiful. And yet she made her way to Yokohama, where people like her could thrive in hopes of finally becoming "a somebody".
Nakahara Chuuya had never left Yokohama nor had he ever thought of it. He lived a dangerous life, had a strong gift that could kill people in an instant and was known for a job well done in the Port Mafia. And yet he was given a mission to keep an eye on a young woman that seemed to be nothing special.
Thus began the dangerous dance of a flower and a flame, where one could burn and leave the other with an eternity of regret.

Note 1: This fanfic does not follow the plot of the manga/anime but the rough time frame is mentioned a few times.
Note 2: This was intended as a rewrite of Flower Crowns but it became a different story as both the characters and the plot were starkly altered.
