Legion of Shadows: Return of the IX

In an alternate reality where the mighty IX Legion of Rome is summoned back from a magical world, they return with newfound strength, arrogance, and determination. Empowered by magic and bolstered by mythical creatures, they find themselves thrust into Italy in 520 AD, a land in ruins, ravaged by barbarian invaders and the collapse of the once-great Roman Empire. With their loyalty still pledged to the emperor they once served, the legion is unyielding as they face both the remnants of Rome's glory and the rising tide of a new dominant religion. The IX Legion, determined to restore the empire or conquer the world they now inhabit, must decide whether to crush the barbarians, challenge the remnants of Roman authority, or face the conflict with the forces of the new faith that threatens to redefine the very foundation of society.
