Carbon Nanotubes are allotropes of carbon with a cylindrical nanostructure. They have a unique combination of stiffness, strength and lightness. Nanotubes exhibit extraordinary strength and unique electrical properties and are efficient conductors of heat. There are two main types of it - single-walled nanotubes (SWNTs) and multi-walled nanotubes (MWNTs).

Structure and Properties
Carbon nanotubes are composed entirely of carbon atoms bonded together in circular graphene sheets that are rolled up into a seamless cylinder. In SWNTs, a single graphene sheet is rolled up to form the nanotube, while in MWNTs, multiple graphene sheets are concentrically nested like rings of a tree trunk.
