The Sekai Taikai is taking place in Barcelona, and like every year Maverick is being dragged there by her dad. Being the daughter of the tournament's director means having to attend the competition with no excuse. Of course there was a time where Maverick enjoyed going but after her incident the past year, she would've preferred to avoid it. Determined to make the best out of her time there she focuses on the competitors for this year's edition, stumbling across some interesting ones. She also reunites with many ghosts from her past but many new faces too.
